Local beauties! No packaging necessary :)
last week someone told me that consumer packaging is the number one growth industry in the u.s.
as the cleaner and organizer for a home of 4 (plus a giant dog), i can totally see how this is possible. as an interior designer, concerned about smart, sustainable design, it's very challenging to "keep it green."
but in some ways, it seems like things are moving in the right direction in terms of taking care of ourselves and the planet. think, the increasing availability of heathy foods, nutraceuticals, and holistic therapies, the "shop local" movement, eco-cleaning products, recycling, etc.)
still, in spite of pretty major recycling and composting at home, i wheel a mostly full trash bin to the road for pick up every week.
what if recycling was the number one growth industry in the U.S? doesn't it seem like this could be an enormous opportunity for light "manufacturing" jobs without the manufacturing!?
leave a comment below and let's chat :) how do you reduce, reuse, recycle?
